![]() ![]() If you want a carrier or any other ''premium '' furnace keep these points in mind and take it from a pro: You can buy the most expensive furnace, but if it is not properly sized, installed and maintained, you will never get the intended benefit and value. Well made, quality components and parts and so far very reliable. I have experienced zero issues with these in almost 3 years now and because of their low cost, my sales have been higher than ever. That forced me -thank God- to turn to Payne which is almost identical to Keeprite and of course to Carrier, since both of these brands are owned by United Technologies that also owns Carrier. ![]() Back in 2016, Keeprite raised pricing by almost 25-30% on its equipment. For about the first 15 years I was installing only Keeprite furnaces and A/Cs with no major issues whatsoever. It was really, really irritating.I have been an HVAC contractor in Mississauga Ontario Canada for 18 years now. I remember the old days with a single-stage motor and single stage burner, and so it'd run at full blast super loud mode when on, then turn off to complete quietness. The higher end units were rated as quieter, but I guess much of that quieter rating had to do with the fact they came with the blanket pre-installed.ĮugW wrote: ↑It's a 2-stage furnace with variable speed motor, so I'm guessing it will usually be running much quieter than its worst case scenario. Finally I paid extra to get a condenser blanket installed, and that quieted it down significantly, but some of the higher end and higher efficiency Lennox units already included one, so that partially would offset the higher cost. I didn't think it'd matter that much but since I'm often in the backyard in the summer, I'd hear my Lennox AC running and it'd drive me nuts. But that was a few years ago.Īlso, one thing I learned the hard way was central AC unit noise was very important to me, even though the unit sat outdoors. ![]() It was really, really irritating.īTW, are there still any eco rebates on the AC units available? I remember when I bought mine, I believe 14 SEER was eligible but lower SEER numbers were not.
